On a small hill, just outside Novi Pazar, you’ll find the Peter’s church, built in the 7th century in place of an ancient Ilyric temple. The church has been damaged and restored a number of times, and only a part of it survived up to this day. It is the early Christian baptiserium, a small christening pool, which can be seen today. Church also has frescoes from 10th, 12th and 13th century. The building is locked, and the key is with the old lady living in a little house just by the graveyard surrounding the church. The church can easily be reached on a walk from Novi Pazar. Details about the city itself (getting there, etc) can be found in the “Novi Pazar” section if this web site.
