Borsko lake is located in eastern Serbia, 17 kilometres away from the city of Bor. The lake is just beneath Crni Vrh (Black Peak, 1.027 m) and it can be reached from the direction of Zagubica or Brestovacka Banja. The water is very clear and good for swimming, especially in the summer months when the water temperature is around 25 degrees centigrade.
You can reach the city of Bor by bus from Belgrade. There are five daily buses connecting Belgrade and Bor, leaving Belgrade at 10.30 am, 02.15 pm, 03.15 pm, 04.00 pm and 05.30 pm. Ticket price depends on the company, but it averages around 8 euros.
There is a regular bus line connecting the city of Bor with Borsko lake. The ride takes around 20 minutes, and the bus stops just in front of the “Borsko Jezero” hotel.
The lake is artificial, created in 1959 after the building of the dam and accumulating the water from Zlotska and Marecova rivers. It is around 30 hectares big, and the water is up to 50 meters deep.
Borsko lake lies at altitude of 438 meters above sea level, in the middle of the untouched nature, lush forests, fields and clearings. There are two hotels on the shore, and nearby there are two tourist settlements and a camp.
