Kovacica is a village mostly inhabited with Slovakian population. It’s known by its Naïve Artists, many of them are world famous. A great number of this works can be seen in the Gallery of Naïve Art in Kovacica. (Cultural Center 3rd October, Masarikova 65, phone number 013/661-157) where 458 pictures of 37 artists are exhibited. Gallery was founded in 1953. In the village center a great church built in baroque style is located, surrounded by park and the gallery is not far away.
  You can reach Kovacica by direct bus line from Novi Sad (one bus a day, 14:45, there is also one bus a day from Kovacica to Novi Sad, 07:25). It is possible to take a bus from Zrenjenin or Pancevo.
The Gallery of Naïve Art in Kovacica has its own internet presentation on: www.artkovacica.co.yu which is unfortunately only in Slovakian language at present, but at least you can see some pictures. The gallery itself is located in nice environment surrounded by little houses-studios, overgrown with ivy, where you can see the artists painting and chat with them.
