The Club: Serbia Travel Club is an organisation gathering travelers and travel enthusiasts. Traveling enables us to get familiar with the inexhaustible diversity of our planet, to learn and understand the countless faces and forms of the world we live in. Traveling is an opportunity to establish an unmediated contact with the world, seek ourselves in its infinity, take it apart and then put it together again, explore it in order to get at least one step closer to answering the big riddle of life. All travelers share the endless love for this world, as well as an intimate feeling of belonging to the whole planet. From green rainforests to stony deserts, from vast icy oceans to coral reefs, lies the immense homeland of travelers. The Club, as well as all its activities, is based solely upon good will, enthusiasm and travel solidarity. The Club encourages self-development, individual autonomy and independent, curious spirit that takes nothing for granted. By promoting travel culture and exploring the diversity of the world, the Club strives towards establishing the harmony with the environment. Members: Serbia Travel Club has several hundred members, most of which are scattered all around Serbia, with a small portion living abroad. The Club is open for travelers from all over the world. The Club's activities are supervised by a board made up of seven coordinators. If you like the idea, it will be our great pleasure to have you as a member. You can register on the forum, browse through the web site, send us your travelogues or your ideas, photographs, plans. We welcome any constructive suggestions as to what to change, improve, complete. The Club belongs to anyone who wants to belong to the Club. The web site: The web site plays an important role in the life of the Club, and its contents closely reflect the Club's activities. Travelogues by our members, articles on interesting sites all around the world, as well as news and information on planned and completed actions are published regularly. The site is the largest electronic base of travel information available in Serbian language. It currently has more than a thousand pages and more than 25.000 monthly visitors (more than 850 daily visits in february 2008). The site also contains travel information and detailed instructions on different travel techniques, systematized data on visas and embassies, a collection of travel photographs and a very active forum where travelers get a chance to meet and share information, stories and experiences. This site, as well as the Travel Club itself, was initially attempted as an experiment, an uncertain endeavour to find kindred souls, a message in a bottle. It initially contained very scarce data, but has since met with great public approval and massive response, which helped it grow into a real travel encyclopaedia and a favorite meeting place for travelers from Serbia. We have received a number of messages from people telling us that, if it wasn't for this web site, they would never have taken heart and found courage to travel independently. The travelogues section constantly grows thanks to the contributions of the readers. The whole site keeps growing and expanding, absorbing new information. We invite you to think of a way you, yes you, could contribute to this idea. Activities: Serbia Travel Club's activities include the research and promotion of alternative ways of traveling, exploration of unusual destinations and getting familiar with other cultures, as well as our own. These activities are carried out through the research expeditions, cooperation with affiliated organizations and anthropological, philological and other scientific institutions, lectures and presentations on travels and other cultures, as well as media presentation of the research results (internet, printed materials, radio and TV programmes, photo exhibitions etc). Serbia Travel Club welcomes alliances and cooperation with any foreign and domestic affiliated organisations and institutions. It also encourages and supports individual projects by all its (current and future) members.
